FAQs

  1. What is the schedule for new readings being posted?
Readings post Monday thru Friday early in the morning.  There are no readings posted on Saturday or Sunday.
  2. Why are scriptures linked instead of having the text included in the post?
While the Bible itself is not a copyrighted item, the companies that publish the various versions copyright their translations.  We are doing a reading of the whole New Testament.  Almost no translation allows including that much text to be included any any work without lots of licensing for the work.  Also, people use various translations for their personal study time.  We chose to link to YouVersion (the Bible App) with the default of the ESV translation.  Once there, you can select whatever translation you prefer.
  3. What is the format of a daily reading?
Each reading will have a minimum of two components, the daily scripture reading (a chapter from the New Testament), and a memory verse from the current book.  Some days will also include a video from one of our pastors as they share about things they’ve learned from the day’s reading.
  4. What is the purpose of subscribing to the daily reading?
If you subscribe to the reading plan, you will receive an email each day a new reading is posted.  The email is a synopsis of the reading, but it does not include any videos.  There is a button below the reading you can click on that will take you directly to that day’s reading.
  5. I subscribed to the reading plan, but have not received an email.
Please check your junk/spam folder to find the reading plan email.  If it is there, please use your email system’s proper way to tag the email as not junk so it will help train the email system to not flag it as junk.
  6. I do not want to continue receiving the email for the reading plan.
We understand that sometimes email can just become noise or overload.  We ask that you go to one of the emails you received and at the bottom there is a section that says “
Want to change how you receive these emails? You can update your preferences or unsubscribe from this list.”  Please use this section to unsubscribe.  Please do not mark the emails as spam or junk as this can ultimately affect others who still want to receive the emails.
  7. Where else can I read the daily readings?
Our mobile app has a button right on the main screen that is labeled Scripture Plan.  You can click there and then click on the link labeled Read In App.  The list you are taken to has the current reading at the top, and the previous reading below it.  To find our mobile app, go to https://thb.church/mobile-app on your mobile device and click the appropriate link based on your phone or tablet type.
